Get it done
Ten percent of people will be excellent at what they do; ten percent will be atrocious. There are eighty percent of people in the middle known as the mountain of average. It is a very easy place to hide because in the mountain there is no criticism for being different. There is virtually no innovation but there is safety in following the norm. People are born with the tools and intellect they need to excel but perform consistent action based on the knowledge they possess. Doing the right thing the right way every time requires a little extra effort and foresight to delay gratification. Jocko Willink states, "there is freedom in discipline" and Andy Frisella states "How you do anything is how you do everything". Combine these two statements and there is powerful insight. Discipline to do everything with the best of your ability will grant you the freedom to choose your future and will catapult you out of the mountain of average into the realm of the elite. In the upper echelon is where change happens and individuals can leverage skills to change the lives of everyone around them. Remove yourself from the mountain of average by using discipline and effort to propel into the upper ten percent.
